THE TAN PLAN
A little ritual.
A lot of glow.
-
Exfoliate well, paying extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees and ankles.
Shave, wax and complete any beauty treatments the day before your tan where possible. This gives your skin time to settle.
Avoid oily or creamy body washes that can leave a barrier on the skin.
-
Shower at least four hours before your session where possible. Don’t exfoliate, shave or wax on the day.
Arrive with clean, dry skin — no moisturiser, deodorant, perfume, makeup or body oils.
Bring loose, dark clothing and easy shoes to slip into afterwards. Less rubbing = a more even tan.
-
Stay dry and avoid sweating until it’s time for your first rinse.
Your rinse time depends on the tan you choose, so always check your MUSE Tan Menu or session instructions before you leave.
For your first rinse, use lukewarm water only — no soap or body wash. Keep it quick, gently rinse away the guide colour and pat yourself dry.
Once your tan has developed, moisturise daily and keep your skin hydrated to help your glow last longer. Swimming, sweating and exfoliating will naturally fade your tan faster.

The First Layer
The secret sauce before the tan. A pH-balancing primer applied before every MUSE tan to help soften unwanted orange tones and prep the skin for a smoother, more even bronze.
Infused with Grape Seed Extract for an extra touch of skin-loving hydration. Included in every tan, as part of the MUSE experience.
Cinnamon Glaze
Made for life in between busy schedules.
Applies completely clear, so you can head straight back to work, school pick up, lunch or wherever the day takes you without the tell tale “I just walked out of a spray tan” look and without the transfer of tan to your clothes and sheets.
Your sunkissed colour develops gradually afterwards.
Rinse: From 6-8 hours.
Sprays on clear whilst developing.

A quick European bronze in 1-3hrs.
Rich chocolate brown and violet undertones develop into a deep, velvety tan.

FAQ’s
-
The active tanning ingredient, DHA, reacts with the outer layer of your skin to create colour — no UV required.
Your tan will continue to develop after your session, with the final colour generally appearing within 24 hours. From there, it gradually fades as your skin naturally renews.
-
Your MUSE session is completely private and self-guided.
Once inside, the booth guides you through each position with simple voice prompts while the spray nozzles apply an even mist across your body.
The actual tan takes around 4 minutes. Your booking allows up to 20 minutes, so you have plenty of time to prep, tan, blend and get dressed.
-
Very. You don’t need to know what you’re doing before you arrive.
Simply follow the voice prompts inside the booth. They’ll tell you where to stand, when to turn and what to do next.
Your room. Your tan. Your time.
-
Choose your desired colour and depth from the MUSE Tan Menu.
Not sure where to start? Our colour guide will help you choose based on your skin tone and the result you’re after.
-
Just yourself — and ideally something loose and dark to wear home.
Inside your room, you’ll find the tanning essentials you need, including a disposable hair net, G-string, sticky feet, wipes and barrier cream.
-
That’s entirely up to you.
Your MUSE room is completely private, so you can tan nude or wear the disposable G-string provided depending on the finish you prefer.
-
The spray itself takes around 4 minutes, while your booking allows up to 20 minutes.
That gives you time to get ready, follow the booth prompts, blend any areas that need a little attention and get dressed without rushing.
-
This depends on the solution and depth you choose.
Your rinse time will be clearly provided with your tan selection. Follow that time rather than guessing — leaving a rapid tan on longer doesn’t necessarily mean a better result.
-
Keep it simple.
Use lukewarm water and rinse until the water runs clear. Avoid soap, body wash and scrubbing, then gently pat yourself dry.
Don’t worry if your colour looks lighter afterwards — your tan will continue to develop.
-
Generally, around 7–10 days, depending on your skin, preparation and aftercare.
Daily moisturising, gentle products and keeping your skin hydrated will help it fade more evenly and last longer.
-
Wait until after your first rinse.
Sweat, water and tight activewear while your tan is developing can interfere with the finish.
-
Yes. Once your tan has fully developed, you can swim as usual.
Just remember that chlorine, salt water and frequent swimming can make a tan fade more quickly, so moisturise well afterwards.
-
Give your tan time to fully develop first.
Small areas can often be gently blended or corrected once you can see the finished colour. Avoid aggressively scrubbing at a fresh tan — it usually makes the difference more noticeable.
-
MUSE is designed to be a private, self-guided experience, so the studio won’t always be staffed.
The booth guides you through your session, and if you need help, MUSE support is only a call or message away.
-
If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have sensitive skin, allergies or a skin condition, we recommend checking with your healthcare professional before tanning.
If you’re concerned about a reaction, patch testing before your first session is always a good idea - contact us to arrange this.
